ISAM MUKARNAS 2021

SOLID SURFACE SIGNAGE

 

When tasked with creating a new and distinctive signage for ISAM (Center for Islamic Studies), we drew inspiration from two key elements of the building.

 

Firstly, we looked to the captivating beauty of "muqarnas," a form of ornamental vaulting commonly found in Islamic architecture.

 

Secondly, we were influenced by the luminous turquoise glass windows shining alongside the terracotta-colored walls. 

 

These two aspects served as the foundation for our design concept, ensuring a harmonious blend of cultural significance and aesthetic appeal.

We used a combination of Glacier White Corian and backlit blue glass.

The result was certainly worth the effort!
